Position Summary:
Assisting instructor of the course with instruction and evaluation of students.
Qualifications:
MECH 210 - Preferably have been a teaching assistant for this course previously. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.
MECH 220 - Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken this course with a good grade. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.
MECH 240 - Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken one of the following courses at McGill: MECH 346 (with a grade of ‘A’), MECH 650 or MECH 654. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring at McGill. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.
MECH 261/262 - Lab TAs: Presence during scheduled lab experiment hours obligatory (decided per student lab sign-up after start of term). Must have completed MECH 261 or 262 or equivalent. Experience required in experimental research, measurement device operation and data analysis. Requires public speaking ability. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.

MECH 341 - Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken this course at McGill with a good grade and preferably have been a teaching assistant for this course and/or MECH 240 previously. MECH 346 - Requires public speaking ability. Must have completed and excelled in MECH 240 (or equivalent), MECH 331 (or equivalent), MECH 346 (or equivalent), and MECH 650. Prior TA experience in MECH 346 is highly desirable. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.
MECH 360 - Must previously have taken MECH 360 or equivalent with a good grade. Must identify self to instructor as potential TA at least one term before application, for training during class tutorials. Basic knowledge of metrology instruments, how to use and read caliper, what are coordinate measuring machines and measurement probes. Basic understanding of geometric and dimensional tolerances. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.
MECH 362 - Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken this course or equivalent. Must have completed an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.
