Building & Design Services are Hull City Councils Construction Consultancy Department providing a comprehensive range of construction services covering Operational, Commercial, Corporate, and Housing portfolios and include architecture, building and quantity surveying, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering, landscape architecture, statutory compliance, property maintenance, asset management and land surveying.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient, professional, and motivated individual reporting to the Associate Professional Lead of Building Services (Maintenance and Compliance). You will primarily be responsible for the monitoring, managing, and reporting of planned work programmes and specialist statutory servicing contracts on corporate and commercial buildings, along with overseeing and guiding colleagues and contractors on the associated day-to-day reactive repairs to support the Councils service delivery across the estate.
You will have a varied role, undertaking surveys and providing asset condition reports, drafting work orders and planned maintenance programmes, preparing estimates, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, preparing technical specifications, supervising, guiding, and instructing contractors, and approving accounts. Additionally, you will consult with relevant parties to identify needs and implementation of repair and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
Candidates shall have a proven experience in a similar role and a thorough working knowledge of the associated legislation, British Standards and Building Regulations, is essential.
This post would be ideal for a mechanical services engineer with experience of building services installations who is keen to progress their career into a supervisory and advisory role.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Mike Norton, Associate Prof Lead (Building Services) on 07702670035 or email mike.norton2@hullcc.gov.uk
