Description:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Professional level technical knowledge and skills related to mechanical systems.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, DraftSight).
  • Demonstrated experience commissioning mechanical systems.
  • Practical hands-on experience maintaining mechanical systems.
  • Experience with the design, operation, and maintenance of conventional HVAC, compressed air, water conditioning, and other mechanical systems.
  • Experience with, and understanding of, building control systems, and PLC controls.
  • Proven technical documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound engineering judgment, attention to detail, and prioritization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team.
  • Experience with nuclear ventilation and/or radioactive water systems is an asset.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

A diploma in mechanical engineering technology or similar from a technical institute. At least 7 years of experience in a technical role, with several years working with mechanical systems.
Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Salary Range:
$64,400.00 - $80,500.00

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and performing functional mechanical system tests.
  • Designing mechanical infrastructure changes on cooling water systems, HVAC/DDC systems, and nuclear ventilation.
  • Maintaining construction deficiency logs, requests for warranty services, and commissioning updates.
  • Developing preventative maintenance programs to meet regulatory and asset health requirements.
  • Leads continuous improvement projects such as equipment standardization, producing work instructions, and safety initiatives.
  • Developing strategies for digital control systems.
  • Developing and reviewing design standards for use in existing and new mechanical systems
  • Turning user needs for additions/changes to systems into implementable requirements and designs.
