The PROK offering includes components with an emphasis on performance and reliability, for light, medium and heavy-duty applications, across the full range of PROK conveyor rollers, idlers, pulleys, belt cleaners and conveyor accessories.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced residential or FIFO Workshop-Based Mechanical Fitter to join our Pilbara Newman team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bearing fitment, precision measuring, as well as detail reporting. Must have assembly experience, possess exceptional problem-solving skills, and be dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of workmanship. This role will primarily involve assembling, maintaining, and repairing conveyor pulleys and assorted conveyor components.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and machinery.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and data entry.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Relevant technical certifications or trade qualifications preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Comfortable working in a workshop environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Assembly: Assemble and install mechanical conveyor components and systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in machinery and equipment. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all assembled and repaired equipment meets quality standards and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent, in compliance with company policies.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and organize workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly calibrated.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of better assembly and maintenance practices.
