Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Roster: The role is full time, permanent FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 (days) rotating with 7/7 (nights) flying on a Thursday.
Site: Telfer Operations- Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in fly out operation from Perth
Reporting into the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor this role will see you carrying out Maintenance tasks in the Processing Plant and ensuring the assets meet performance, safety and availability.
This busy yet challenging role will have you focusing on maintenance of assets such as: gyratory crushers, conveyor systems, apron feeders, SAG and Ball mills, pumps, agitators, Horizontal plate filtration press, cyclones, screens, and hydraulic equipment.

Other deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:

  • Effectively carry out an arrangement of maintenance activities on all Fixed Plant assets including preventative, corrective and breakdown tasks in a timely and orderly manner
  • Carry out routine inspections of all Fixed Plant machinery ensuring any discrepancies are recorded and corrective measures are implemented through the maintenance business process
  • Be proactive in continuously improving maintenance strategies Identify and report with the use of work requests on component or equipment failure
  • Demonstrate an uncompromised commitment to safety to achieve a workplace target of zero injuries and incidents
  • Have the ability to be team leaders and to lead small groups on specific jobs when required particularly during plant Shutdowns
  • Required to understand and act in accordance with Newmont’s Values and Code of Conduct and generally to meet all relevant and internal and external compliance obligations.
