Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical Support Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Mechanical support which may entail extended offshore visits as and when required
- Generates work scopes, detailed cost estimates, and, where necessary, compile maintenance and minor modification work packs for offshore implementation
- To provide knowledge/expertise in all aspects of specific types of mechanical equipment, fabricated equipment, materials handling equipment
- Provide operational and specialist Mechanical support to modification or study teams or projects in line with the BAB technical management of change procedure
- Assists in setting budgets which are realistic, manage expenditure for all work scopes within the
limits of those budgets, demonstrating appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing
this appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues
- Management of Sub-Contractors and suppliers ensuring supporting vendors and suppliers comply
with company standards i.e. Safety Management, Quality Management and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your field and expertise
- To interface with other relevant disciplines to ensure technical integrity of design is maintained
- To support and produce the assigned discipline deliverables within designated time frames.
- Participate in and contribute to various Safety Reviews related to the projects, i.e. HAZID, HAZOP etc, and close out assigned actions in a timely manner
- Review various vendor technical reports as required ensuring any follow up work is actioned.
- Assist with inspection of equipment and attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests as required
- Maintain Mechanical Equipment Specifications, Standards and Procedures and be the local point of contact for the Mechanical equipment and their application on Kraken
- Maintains Mechanical Standards and Procedures and be the local owner of appropriate Mechanical management procedures
- Provide input and support long-term facility modification and maintenance plans/programs to
ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout the FPSO lifetime
- Carry out technical integrity audits on mechanical systems and work management as part of the Technical Audit programme
- Meeting the corporate targets set for the company
- Propels high safety acumen with regards to FPSO facility daily operations
- Lead and participate in a proactive safety performance and KPl’s and provide appropriate input to the Kraken Process Safety management system
- Participate in equipment failure investigations and incident investigations as required
- Ensures compliance with the Company’s Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Management Systems for all assets/facilities are met within areas of own responsibility
- Ensures that all requirements, deadlines, and support services for FPSO Operations, Construction, Maintenance and Materials are met and carried out by offshore personnel
- Ensures a significant focus on safety with regards to the FPSO facility daily operations
Requirements:
- Adhering to the IOGP ‘Life Saving Rules’
- Attending all required mandatory training as detailed within the company’s training matrix
- Ensuring knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and
emergency procedures, company policy and instructions
