Anduril is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our manufacturing team in Sydney, Australia. The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defence hardware for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in delivering our AUVs to customers by working hands-on with the engineering team, building complex sub-assemblies and integrating them into the final product!
The right person for this role can demonstrate experience working in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment such as defence manufacturing, aircraft maintenance or advanced technology manufacturing environments. This person will be flexible to provide support wherever needed to ensure products are built and shipped under stringent quality standards. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years working as a Fitter and Turner, or similar.
  • Experience working in a factory environment on automotive, marine, aerospace, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiar with sheet metal fabrication processes and competent in hand tool use for metal / composite part assembly
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics)
  • Commitment to a high-quality product and strong sense of personal accountability to meet timelines
  • Well organised and detail-oriented, excellent communication skills and takes pride in your work
  • Eligibility to obtain a NV1 security clearance (status not required at time of hire)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in mechatronics and robotics a plus (Drones, electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems)
  • Prior experience working with JIRA, Teamcenter (PLM), or NetSuite (ERP) or equivalents
  • Experience with low volume / high mix manufacturing and a proactive attitude to solve assembly problems.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists on assembly and integration efforts
  • Build, test, and integrate electro-mechanical assemblies into our world class products
  • Assemble metallic and composite structures, hydraulic systems and machined parts including modifying off-the-shelf components (COTS)
  • Contribute to the manufacturing life cycle by providing feedback to the engineering team on design and assembly improvement opportunities
  • Help develop, document, and improve our workflows and documentation
  • Interact with digital MES / ERP systems for work order tracking, inventory control, and quality reporting
