Description:

They are seeking highly skilled and trade qualified Mechanical Technician to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Conduct routine and preventive mechanical maintenance tasks on vehicle and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings
  • Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
  • Replacing/fitting of fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies
  • Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
  • Diagnose vehicle/equipment malfunctions, perform repairs, and execute corrective maintenance to prevent operational disruptions
  • Carry out inspections to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems efficiently
  • Collaborate with the team to implement improvement strategies for equipment reliability and performance
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements and inspections
  • May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
  • May respond to vehicle or equipment breakdown service calls
  • Comply with safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Trade qualification as Mechanical Technician or equivalent
  • With at least 4 years of proven experience as mechanical technician or similar role
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment
  • Able to use wide range of hand and power tools
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting technique and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
  • Physically fit and able to work in various conditions
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
  • Must have great work ethics
