Description:
Viking Mechanical is a leading aftermarket workshop specialising in exceptional vehicle / equipment maintenance based in Paget Mackay. We are expanding our capabilities and building our business working towards hiring a dynamic team to provide exceptional customer service in the Mackay and Bown Basin region.
We are currently seeking multiple Trade Qualified Heavy Commercial and Light Vehicle Mechanical Technicians to join our team.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- You will be responsible for performing vehicle / equipment repairs
- Site maintenance work as outlined by the manufacturer with efficiency and accuracy and in accordance with dealership and factory standard.
- You must be able to effectively communicate with the parts departments, service advisors to ensure we are able to keep our customers informed on the progress of their vehicle/ equipment.
- Conducting multipoint inspections and providing recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicle/ equipment
Ideally applicants will have experience with the following:
- Routine services and maintenance repairs (necessary and preventative maintenance) on fleets of trucks, trailers, and light vehicles and equipment.
- Fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Proven experience regarding scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on Iveco trucks and light vehicles and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Be able to work autonomously in a largely unsupervised role, must be able to get along with others.
- Be able to communicate with management and to be able to prioritise work in a sometimes very busy and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, CANDIDATES MUST BE:
- Trade qualified Mechanical Technician
- Prepared to travel for site work.
- A/C licence beneficial
- Previous experience working on road transport will be highly regarded.
- Have an ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Strong safety focus and commitment.
- Light Vehicle Trade qualification
- Ability to undertake Standard 11 and a Coal Board Medical
- Pass Drug and alcohol workplace test
- Current licence
