Description:
JOB SUMMARY
You will play a key role in the delivery of a workshop service, dedicated to providing support for research and teaching activities in the Department of Physics.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to at least BTEC HNC or equivalent, with completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship-training scheme.
- Significant experience in mechanical engineering workshop design and production, preferably within a research or engineering development environment.
- Experience of the design and construction of complex mechanical systems and high-precision components.
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of research equipment.

Responsibilities:
You will be part of an experienced team, designing, complex precision manufacturing components and contributing to the assembly, installation and commissioning of highly specialist equipment. You will work on a range of projects supporting the research groups and teaching laboratories in the Department of Physics.
