Where you will belong
Within the department Deceleration & Steering we develop Brake- and Steering- systems for future car models and continuously improve our current models. We are now looking for our next lead engineer with the responsibility to implement (together with supplier) the Software for the steering gear in our next generation vehicles.
This assignment will involve collaboration both with internal and external partners and will require high communication and project lead skills. A high technical interest in embedded SW is required. As well as an overall understanding of the steering system including Mechanical and Electronics.
We believe you have passion for SW with several years of hands on experience in SW development and you are eager to develop and continuously improve the quality of the architecture for the steering system according to VCC procedures.
- You have a M.Sc. in Controls and Mechatronics, Electronical or Computer Science Engineering or equal.
- You are fluent in English (spoken and written) and have a driving license (B) and drives on a regular basis.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience in the following
- Engineering documentation (Requirements)
- SW Quality Assurance
- Project Management
- Supplier Managemen

Responsibilities:
- Develop and continuously improve the quality of the steering system according to VCC procedures.
- Follow the technical/logical Plan for the competence area and VPP (volvo project plan)
- Together with system architects, principal engineer and attribute team draw up specifications and requirements for the component and communicate them to potential suppliers with proper documentation.
- Work in close collaboration with
- Attribute leaders (safety, vehicle dynamics, etc.)
- Manufacturing
- External Suppliers
- Etc.
- Define test plans, perform acceptance and integration tests and review test results
- Ensure the work is delivered as per specified acceptance criteria and definition
- Project management - Drive and secure quality, cost and timeplan
Experience and background
