We are seeking a highly practical, skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at 4Subsea. As a key member of our Sensor team SIM, you will be designing and participating in the development of products for offshore market. And we believe you have insight into machine design which also includes reading and producing technical documentation. The role reports to Product Owner within our SIMs (Sensors Integrity Management) dept.

WHAT WE APPRECIATE OF QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in mechanical/mechatronic engineering. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
  • 0-5Y practical experience of mechanical/mechatronic design.
  • Extensive experience using CAD and PDM systems, preferably in CREO and Windchill.
  • Insight into machine design including reading and producing technical documentation.
  • Insight into control systems and understanding of industry protocols.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas requirements.
  • Knowledge of API 17F highly appreciated.
  • Clear communicator – oral and written – in both English and Norwegian

Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead development of topside and subsea products and 3d models, drawings, and specifications
  • Drive product / project documentation like BOMs, specifications, drawings, wiring diagrams, topology drawings, test procedures, product manuals and reports.
  • Participate and drive technical aspects of project work, services and development related to monitoring of flexible pipes, cables, dynamic risers, and structures within the oil, gas, drilling, and wind industry.
  • Follow up of technology qualification of designs.
  • Follow up of sub suppliers.
