Reporting to the Media & Communications Manager, and as an integral member of the Environment and Community Department, this role forms part of the Australian communications function with a focus on branding and content delivery across Glencore Coal Assets Australia (GCAA), and the execution of an integrated media and communications strategy across multiple mining operations in New South Wales and Queensland.
The role includes external and internal communications; written and video content creation; digital and social media management; and brand management.
Your accountabilities will include the implementation of a proactive communications strategy to build positive brand awareness across multiple channels, including external and internal platforms, and to develop and maintain a strong digital presence for GCAA. You will be confident in digital content management systems and managing social media channels, including implementing organic content and paid campaigns.
Other duties include media monitoring, graphic design, internal communications, supporting sites with communications for projects and business initiatives, and coordinating the regular supply of GCAA content for a variety of Australian communications channels.
You will work closely with numerous internal teams, including in the areas of health and safety; environment and community; operations; tax; legal; finance; marketing; project development; procurement and logistics.
We are seeking a competent professional with five years of communications experience, as well as having:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in digital media management, communications, reputation management, public & community relations.
- Previous experience in the Mining Industry and/or with large organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in digital media management, planning & execution.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills within a dynamic team environment.
- Demonstrated ability in graphic design and video editing.
