Ark Media are an award-winning video production company based in Birmingham with a reputation for powerful v-marketing and an excellent ROI. We have an exciting opportunity for a Media Production Assistant to join our team. You will be an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated individual with lots of initiative and drive.
The apprentice will be working as part of the Production and Post Production team at Ark Media and will assist on productions, which may include shooting footage and interviews, and assisting our editor with managing, selecting and editing footage.
We would be keen to develop the successful applicant into a well rounded and competent camera operator within the business and therefore would require an applicant with a passion for filming with basic knowledge of camera settings and composition.

Working alongside our team, you will be involved in and learning skills related to digital video production with a particular focus on filming, which may include:

  • Shadowing and working with our production team and main editor to gain experience and knowledge on shoots and the edit.
  • Receiving tasks and briefs from senior colleagues, interpreting those needs, and coming up with practical ideas that can meet their goals.
  • Assisting our production team on location at shoots in varied locations; these duties can include tasks like shot logging, carrying equipment, assisting in setting up lighting and cameras and client hospitality, and recording sound on smaller shoots.
  • Contributing to conceptual thinking and coming up with creative ideas and solutions.
  • Taking a proactive approach to self-development. Activity researching and developing knowledge in post production to help the team.
  • Ensuring creative work is completed to the highest standard. Upholding company standards, ensuring business professionalism and reputation for excellence
  • Create and maintain compelling and interesting content through video and design. Create content for social media communications across multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
  • Deal with general enquiries about us.
  • General admin and office duties as appropriate to the role. Assisting with production in the office, including research and pre-production tasks. Tea making and client hospitality.
  • Managing the company’s video materials by logging footage and maintaining the archive.
  • Research into current clients, market trends and competitors

Entry requirements
Maths and English Level 2/GCSE at Grade C/4 or above.
Training to be provided
You will be completing a Production Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship with Creative Alliance.
You will have training on the job and off the job with the award winning, creative specilaised provider Creative Alliance.
