About ThedaCare!

SUMMARY :

The Public Relations Consultant advances the image, awareness, and preference of the ThedaCare brand and reputation by promoting expert, local care through earned public and media relations and owned media by partnering with senior leaders, and by strategically aligning public relations plans with ThedaCare mission, vision, movement and strategy. Enables and executes the ThedaCare voice in the relationship and conversation with our communities by managing and engaging with media, ultimately building advocacy. In partnership with Communications leadership, serves as public information officer and manages public-facing crisis communications as part of incident command team ensuring ThedaCare messaging is controlled and cascaded to target audiences.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Creates strategic public relations and media plans that align with the ThedaCare mission, vision, strategies and lifeinspired movement.
  2. Protects and advances the ThedaCare brand through multi-faceted earned and owned conversations by creating and sharing content with local, state, and trade media that position ThedaCare and its leaders/providers as experts and thought leaders.
  3. Positions ThedaCare as preferred health care provider by creating, writing and sharing patient voice, words, and visuals in their continuum of care with ThedaCare.
  4. Promotes ThedaCare as a caring community member by sharing health education events and donations, as well as resulting human impact stories.
  5. Works collaboratively to build strong relationships inside and outside ThedaCare while becoming a trusted and respected advisor to ThedaCare senior leaders, providers, and media. Provides media training, speaking points and briefing to ensure best results.
  6. Serves as on call contact for ThedaCare Communications, which includes night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  7. Enhances ThedaCare media expertise through willingness to learn and apply the latest public relations and communications trends.
  8. Tracks effectiveness of public relations efforts related to ThedaCare and department goals, and adjusts to improve outcomes.
  9. Highlights ThedaCare’s impact on the health of our communities by outlining, creating and promoting the annual Community Benefit Report, in partnership with Community Health Initiative and Foundations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Five years of public relations experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Five years of experience with local and trade media
