Description:
The Native Communications Society of the NWT (NCS) is the Northwest Territory’s premier Indigenous Broadcaster with coverage across the entire Territory and beyond. NCS boasts a team of creative, passionate, and talented individuals constantly seeking to inform and excel. CKLB, a radio division of NCS, delivers news, current affairs and diverse regional and cultural perspectives daily to our valued listeners in five Indigenous languages and English.
Radio is a trusted source of local information, music, and entertainment. Radio ads help local businesses inform and promote their products and services to potential buyers and works to make all forms of other advertising better by increasing brand recall. NCS is currently recruiting a Media Sales Representative to work full-time in a cross-cultural environment. The successful candidate will work out of our main-office in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories or in a hybrid capacity. We are seeking a person with a proven sales track record and the ability to establish strong relationships with clients and grow business through sales of airtime and digital ads.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant should have the following qualities, abilities and experience level:
- Previous radio sales experience an asset
- Establish, grow and maintain relationships
- Drafting proposals and presenting
- Ability to interface with clients both remotely and face-to-face.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, attention to detail, and good follow-up
- Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in social media platforms, mainly Facebook
- Knowledge of Hindenburg and Audacity as asset
- High level of self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
