EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with three years Medicaid Billing experience.
  • At least two years of prior supervisory experience. Supervisory experience shall include planning work to be accomplished by and setting priorities for subordinates and evaluating and providing feedback on subordinate’s performance.
  • Proficient in using Medicaid billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Omnicaid, Credible, HTH portal and HMIS system.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify and resolve billing-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general health and social services guidelines, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to author reports, guidelines, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information. and respond to questions from staff, internal and external partners. Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Medicaid Billing practices in compliance with contract expectations, District rules & regulations and agency policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the full medical billing process, from claim submission to payment collection, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze billing data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to optimize billing operations.
  • Collaborate with Catholic Charities HHS Front Office team, Finance Department, Senior Director of Business and Data Systems, Department of Human Services (DHS) and Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), to resolve billing-related inquiries, discrepancies, and issues.
  • Develop and monitor written billing policies and procedures to ensure adherence to program standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated on Medicaid billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies, and ensure that the team is trained accordingly.
  • Conduct regular audits of billing processes and records to identify and rectify errors, discrepancies, and potential areas of non-compliance.
  • Generate and analyze billing reports to assess team performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate in meetings to provide updates on billing operations, challenges, and achievements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client records in Credible, Housing the Homeless (HTH) portal and sensitive billing information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and e-HIPAA regulations.
  • Supervise assigned staff which includes recruiting, staffing, hiring, performance evaluation, employee discipline, training, and development; conduct regular staff meetings; communicate policies and procedures; and facilitate team dynamics.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
