Description:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifying candidates will meet one of the following criteria options:
Option 1:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration or a closely related field, and four (4) years of the required experience below
Option 2:
Eight (8) years of the required experience below

The required experience includes the following:

  • Conducting health care research
  • Analyzing policies, laws, rules, or regulations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to collaborate with individuals with varying knowledge of the Indian health care system and effectively explain how their work impacts Tribes, IHCPs, and American Indian/Alaska Natives (AI/ANs).
  • Ability to analyze and comment on information across various formats, including written, verbal, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of the Indian health care system, including health care as a treaty right.
  • Knowledge of the 1115 waiver.

Responsibilities:

SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Coordinate and provide consultation in partnership with the Office of Tribal Affairs (OTA), HCA divisions such as Strategy, Policy and Innovation (SPI), and the Medicaid Programs Division (MPD), along with Tribes, IHCPs, Native-led organizations, other state agencies, and interested parties like Accountable Communities of Health and the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs.
  • Advance and organize initiatives related to the Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP) 1115 waiver and the Indian health care delivery system in Washington State.
  • Use independent judgment to produce, edit, research, analyze, and provide constructive analysis to management, staff, and partners.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings pertaining to the 1115 waiver.
  • Coordinate with other MTP leads and Subject Matter Experts across HCA to ensure communications, strategic, and long-range planning activities are aligned.
  • Coordinate the development and execution of Care Coordination Agreements as outlined in State Health Official (SHO) Letter #16-002, ensuring new state savings are captured and placed in the Indian Health Improvement Reinvestment Account.
