Description:

To process registration of patients on to the practice list. To process de-registration of patients from the practice list. To undertake summarising of medical records ensuring accurate use of read codes in line with recognised guidelines. To undertake update of medical records ensuring accurate use of read codes in line with recognised guidelines.
To process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, ensuring that callers are answered courteously, promptly and clearly and that accurate messages are always passed to the appropriate person Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone To work closely with the other reception staff to ensure the smooth running of reception and efficient delivery of services to the patients To book appointments and contact patients when required To complete patient-related tasks in a timely manner To process information such as change of address. To be willing to learn other admin functions in practice as required. To process repeat prescription requests To be responsible for the closing of the practice in the evening. All staff are required to attend training appropriate to their role in safeguarding children and adults, which includes understanding and recognising the signs of abuse and knowing how to raise concerns when those signs of abuse are noticed in a person. Health and Safety: In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other supplementary legislation, you are required to take reasonable care to avoid injury during the course of work and co-operate with CCG/Practice and others in meeting statutory regulations.
You are also required to attend statutory training as required to fulfil your duties. To comply with safety instructions and CCG/Practice policies and procedures. To use in a proper safe manner the equipment and facilities provided. To refrain from willful misuse of, or interference with, anything provided in the interest of health and safety and any action, which might endanger yourself and others.
To report as soon as practical any hazards and defects to your senior manager. To report as soon as practical accidents and untoward incidents and to ensure that accident forms are completed
