Description:
We are inviting applications for a Medical Administrator based in Chicago, Illinois. The role is crucial to our operations in the healthcare industry, offering a short-term contract employment opportunity. This is a part time opportunity, with a schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8AM - 5PM; there will be a chance for occasional work on Saturdays too. The role is based in downtown Chicago with rotations in Oak Forest and River Forest - there is transportation available from downtown to get to other locations.
As a Medical Administrator, you will be responsible for handling various administrative tasks, including patient intake, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and directing patients.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently process patient intake, ensuring all information is accurately recorded and updated into the system.
- Handle insurance verification tasks, liaising with insurance companies as necessary to confirm coverage details.
- Schedule patient appointments, considering the availability of medical personnel and patient convenience.
- Direct patients within the facility, providing guidance and assistance as required.
- Operate computer programs such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR SYSTEM to manage patient records and other administrative tasks.
- Rotate across different sites in Chicago, oak forest, and river forest, ensuring seamless administrative operations across all locations.
- Use software like Cure MD and E Clinical works to manage patient data and other related information.
- Respond to patient inquiries, providing accurate and timely information to enhance patient experience.
- Monitor patient accounts, identifying any issues and taking appropriate action.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are handled with attention to detail, contributing to the smooth running of clinical operations.
- Proficiency in medical software such as Allscripts and Cerner Technologies
- Ability to operate various computer programs and systems
- Experience with EHR SYSTEM
- Skilled in answering inbound calls and handling patient inquiries
- Experience in managing billing functions within a healthcare setting
- Ability to interpret and present data using charts and graphs
- Experience in claim administration and processing
- Familiarity with clinical trial operations and protocols
- Experience in patient intake and data collection
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in healthcare administration will be a plus.
