MEDICAL ADVISOR CARDIOMETABOLIC HEALTH

Bringing a deep understanding of the emerging science, key objective of the medical affairs team in Switzerland is to educate physicians and to collect their insights to assemble the scientific evidence, hence, enabling cross-functional teams to focus on programs which are relevant to health care providers (HCPs) and have the biggest impact on patient outcomes.
To strengthen our affiliate medical affairs team, we are looking for a Medical Advisor assuming responsibilities for the clinical advancement of our Cardiometabolic Health portfolio.
Purpose of the job:
Through the application of scientific and clinical training and expertise, the Medical Advisor Cardiometabolic Health is an integral member of the medical affairs, development, or a business unit brand team for strategic planning in the support of launch and commercialization activities to meet patients’ needs and ultimately enhance the customers’ experience in interacting with the company.
Core job responsibilities:

In an effort to fully understand external opinions, issues, and new science in the area of cardiometabolic diseases medical advisors gather and communicate scientific intelligence, clinical care gaps (CCGs) and product knowledge gaps (PKGs) and other insights identified through their interactions with scientific experts and other health care providers. To foster late-stage product development and to enable patients´ access to innovative treatments they partner locally across functions (regulatory, marketing, PRA, legal) and with regional/global colleagues to better inform Lilly’s strategic direction. Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with scientific experts and other HCPs.
  • Leading and presenting at conferences, advisory boards, scientific exchange meetings, etc., and overseeing the development of the scientific content of educational programs.
  • Participating in the development of the “patient journey” and the strategic plan for the respective compounds.

Job requirements:

  • An advanced health/medical/scientific (for example, in pharmacology, physiology, microbiology) or related graduate degree such as DVM, PharmD, PhD, MSN with advanced clinical specialty (Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner) and one of following:
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience, ideally in the area of cardiometabolic diseases, or
  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical experience (2 of which is in clinical development)

OR

  • University degree/ Master-degree or PhD in medicine, pharmacy, life science, or health economics that is directly related to at least one of the following:
  • Clinical trial experience
  • Experience in areas relevant to drug discovery
  • Drug/clinical development experience (for example, epidemiology, toxicology, pharmacology, regulatory affairs, medical affairs).

Engagement in domestic and international travel to the degree appropriate to support the business of the team will be required. Travel requirement is expected > 30% of time.
