Responsibilities:

Physician Clinical Administrative Assistants are fully trained on and responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist in performing triage, taking patient histories, and conducting limited physical examinations when needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, optimizing the clinic’s schedule and minimizing patient wait times.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care plans.
  • Appropriate application of scripts, scenarios and clinical skills, and usage of EMR.
  • Ensure consistent inventory levels through daily stocking of exam rooms.
  • Ensure a clean & quiet environment by cleaning/sanitizing exam rooms, common spaces, foyers, bathrooms.
  • Proper registration of the patient administratively (i.e. reception, scheduling, collecting payments, etc.)
  • Basic IT troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and document patient encounters in real-time.
  • Document patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring they are current and complete.
  • Assist with order entry, including prescriptions, referrals, and diagnostic tests as directed by the provider.
  • Assisting health care providers with medical procedures such as wound care, suture removal, and specimen collection.
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide post-operative care instructions to patients.
  • Females: Perform Pap examination under supervision, specimen collection and documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, managers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and clinic operations.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and other quality improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as required
