  • Prepare examination and treatment areas.
  • Prepare patient for examination, treatment, and procedures.
  • Provide direct patient care, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
  • Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person.
  • Document care of patient via electronic medical record.
  • Collect, complete and process lab specimens and required paperwork.
  • Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
  • Assist provider with screening and follow-up with patient test results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required-High School Diploma/GED Required
  • LPN: Required-Associates Degree, OR
  • MA: Preferred-1 year Medical Assisting
  • MA: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA; RMA; NCMA; CCMA) - Required within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) – Required
