Required:
- Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech training with knowledge of medical terminology, registration, coding, experience with customer service and medical office responsibilities required.
Preferred:

Responsibilities:
- Inputs data as needed or directed and accurately
- Assures timely and efficient patient flow out the cancer center while monitoring the waiting times in the reception area, lab, sub-waiting, and examination rooms.
- Promptly inform appropriate personnel of unexplained delays.
- Proficiently demonstrates and consistently performs all techniques and skills in the following: Receives patients from waiting areas, accurately performs proper patient identification, obtains patients’ vital signs, height, and weight, and communicates abnormal findings to appropriate clinical staff promptly.
- Assists patients in the examination room with gowning and assists clinical staff with patient care during procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills with staff, providers, visitors, patients, and family verbally and through documentation in patient medical records. Order office and clinical supplies promptly, ensuring that the department is appropriately stocked
- Verbalizes and demonstrates an understanding of department par levels.
- Maintains a clean, neat, well-stocked, and safe working area in all patient care areas.
- Interact professionally with all staff, patients, and family members while paying attention to the age-specific needs of the patient. It meets patient and family expectations while consistently striving for customer satisfaction by adhering to the Employee Code of Conduct.
- Organizes work and meets deadlines in a high volume of practice while demonstrating a positive, professional manner.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Transports medications to and from the pharmacy
- Interacts with patients and handles patient inquiries in a professional manner. Responds to inquiry or passes to the appropriate staff member for follow up
- Prepares and maintains patient medical records in a neat and orderly manner according to department protocol
- Takes patient vital signs and document in patient record.
- Transports medications to and from the pharmacy.
