Description:

We are inviting applications for a Part-Time Medical Billing Specialist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is an integral part of our healthcare team, offering a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Part-Time Medical Billing Specialist will be primarily responsible for analyzing and reducing aging and following up and resubmitting denied claims.   • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) thoroughly for better understanding.
  • Post payments accurately based on EOBs from insurance companies, patients, and government agencies.
  • Maintain regular interaction with insurance companies and guarantors as required.
  • Utilize payer websites and dedicated call centers for claim status and claim review.
  • Assist in verifying that providers are updated with insurance/government agencies..
  • Conduct regular review and follow-up on claim denials and unpaid claims, taking appropriate actions for account resolution.
  • Report issues and concerns regarding account resolution to avoid write-offs.
  • Assist in the preparation of Self Pay batches for billing.
  • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist in various projects as needed.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Billing
  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with EHR SYSTEM is essential
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in Appeals and Billing Functions
  • Knowledge of Claim Administration and Collection Processes
  • Must have a solid understanding of Medical Billing
  • Must understand EOB - Explanation of Benefits
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Billing is required
  • Experience in Medicaid and Medicaid Billing is essential
  • Familiarity with Commercial Payer is crucial
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Must have a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
