Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician
Would you like to be part of a team in an exciting and rapidly growing medical clinic?
FVCL is a rapidly growing medical ophthalmology clinic specializing in eye disease and surgeries with advanced technology. We have a nationally-recognized team of ophthalmologists with vast clinical experience in a wide variety of ocular services including MSP covered exams and surgeries, as well as private lens surgeries and LASIK.

We are looking for an energetic and detail oriented individual to join our dynamic and growing ophthalmic clinic and surgical centre!

  • Work well both in a team-oriented environment and independently
  • Superb organizational skills and can work with little supervision
  • Have flexible schedules; can accept shifts a few months in advance

You will require at minimum to have:

  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary MDR theory course
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification

Although this is a casual position, we anticipate one to three shifts per week on average, and there is opportunity for application into other departments for more hours if desired.

Roles that will be trained but experience would be an asset in are as follows:

  • Receiving, sorting, disassembling, decontaminating, cleaning, assembling, wrapping, sterilizing, and storing instruments, equipment and supplies from and to all user areas.
  • Reporting and/or removing any malfunctioning equipment or instruments.
  • Consistently checking/reporting of inventory levels
  • Rotating stock (FIFO) and reprocessing outdated supplies according to protocols.
  • Participating in routine maintenance of department’s equipment by cleaning, checking and testing MDR equipment, cleaning of work and storage areas
