QUALIFICATIONS

High independence and initiative are fundamental when identifying and leading key strategic initiatives. It is expected that the Medical Director, Rare Disease in Region NWE will drive the effort to identify new and innovative approaches within area of expertise when implementing projects and deliverables related to Novo Nordisk future assets. This is essential as NN embarks into new TAs where we have currently limited capabilities and where a high degree of innovation is a must to outperforming competition in a sustainable way.

In addition to be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • M.D., PhD and/or M.Sc. in a relevant scientific field. Experience within haematology will be seen as an advantage
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharma industry together with some relevant experience working in medical positions and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Substantial medical affairs experience, with knowledge of therapeutic area development and market access. Experience from the Rare Disease space will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong presentation, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Project management experience together with a results-oriented personality thriving in a setting with a complex matrix organization

Responsibilities:

Your other responsibilities would include:

  • Develop and drive medical therapy area strategy and priorities in the Haemoglobinopathy space working closely with the key affiliates to ensure a medical support for Haemoglobinopathy
  • Lead and chair Region NWE medical community within Haemoglobinopathy, ensuring close collaboration, sharing of information, and implementation of strategic priorities as well as individual affiliate support.
  • Support the development of go-to-market strategies for Haemoglobinopathy by providing the Region NWE perspective and ensure adaptation to NWE market conditions.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to realize medical opportunity in line with Regional and IO business priorities driving collaboration efforts with HQ and regional cross functional teams to ensure cross-functional and organizational alignment for NN future portfolio strategies in Rare Disease.
  • Work closely with the UK affiliate, and on behalf of other key affiliates to ensure adequate focus on therapeutic area development and medical support for Haemoglobinopath
