How you make a difference:
As the Medical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all medical services and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will collaborate with the Program Director to review and recommend changes to treatment plans, while also participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning conferences. Additionally, you will develop and conduct education programs to address drug and alcohol abuse, and advocate for the needs of each patient assigned to the clinicians with specific departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight and supervision of medical services, ensuring adequacy and quality of care for patients.
- Represents the program clinically, liaising with advocates and families, and advocating for patients.
- Conducts case review, leads peer review, and participates in multidisciplinary teams and clinically based PI projects.
- Manages physician retention, performance evaluation, and provides in-service training as needed.
- Delivers direct psychiatric care to patients and demonstrates knowledge of applicable medical services and related policies and procedures, including compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Osteopathic Doctor (DO) from an accredited university.
Experience
- Demonstrates appropriate experience in addiction treatment through either a fellowship in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry for a minimum of one year or possesses minimum of two years’ experience in addiction treatment services or has a plan to develop competency in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry within two years.
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed in state of employment to practice medicine.
- Certification by American Board of Addiction Medicine, American Board of Preventive Medicine, or another specialty recognized by American Board of Medical Specialties.
- Must have DATA 2000 Waiver
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification
