Description:

The Front Desk Specialist will greet all patients and support the Front Desk area by efficiently and correctly completing the registration process for office visits and provide coverage for Operator as needed. The Front Desk position requires traveling to our different locations throughout the week including Midtown, Centennial, Green Hills, Brentwood, and Franklin.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other guidelines established by the practice
  • Politely greet patients as they arrive for scheduled appointments
  • Enter and verify demographic and insurance information for new and established patients according to protocol; scan a copy of each patient’s ID and insurance card into the EMR
  • Ensure patients and providers receive and complete the appropriate forms and/or records for the appointment
  • Discuss and collect co-pays, deposits and balances on patient accounts
  • Complete daily facilities checklist as assigned
  • Direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate extension when providing operator coverage
  • Assist Medical Records department by scanning and queuing documents and by acting as the primary scanner of patient documents when working at satellite offices
  • Assist Medical Records department by sending CCs to referring and primary care physicians as needed to maintain continuity of care
  • Perform other administrative duties as requested by the Supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • College education or trade school preferred
  • Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously with minimal error rate
  • Experience working in potentially stressful situations
  • High-level customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Preference for activities involving face-to-face interaction
