• Schedule: Full time, Day-shift 8am-4:30pm, some weekends
• Hospital: Ascension St Vincent Hospital
• Location: Indianapolis, IN
  MUST have medical interpreter certification or 40hr training in Medical Interpreting! Spanish required and trilingual in Spanish and Haitian Creole is highly preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

One or more of the following are preferred:

• Certified Interpreter credentialed from the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.
• Certified Interpreter credentialed from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
• Translator credentialed from the American Translators Association.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Act as a liaison between English and non-English speaking and/or hearing guests, staff and patients by providing interpreter services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation and sight translation from English to a target language and vice versa (bidirectional) in preparation for procedures and other general information.
• Comply with all privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating patient information.
• Provide support and serve as a resource for other interpreters.
• Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new members of the network language services team.
