Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services - (A joint venture with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust , Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Ashford & St Peters Hospitals NHS Trust, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust).

Responsibilities:
The post holder will be based in Biochemistry section providing comprehensive support Blood Sciences department.
The post holder will be based in Biochemistry laboratory/ Blood sciences.
Duties include assisting in the preparation of analytical work for Biochemistry Department across a range of scientific disciplines under the supervision of a Registered Biomedical Scientist.
Assist in the loading / unloading potentially infectious samples onto basic automated and manual equipment, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), under supervision as required.
Ensures accurate stock records are maintained and process stock delivery.
Ensures EQA samples and incomplete outstanding lists are managed effectively.

The post holder is expected to cover 24/7 shift in Blood Sciences and will consist of consecutive nights.

The post holder will liaise closely with the line manager in providing a high-quality technical service that builds on the standards defined by the UKAS and ISO 15189:2022. They will be expected to develop and maintain close working relationships with all grades of staff both technical and medical to ensure the effective delivery of the technical service.
