Job Summary:
The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses to support clinical diagnoses and research initiatives. This role demands a meticulous and knowledgeable professional who can uphold laboratory standards, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency of laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Laboratory Testing and Analysis:
• Execute a variety of laboratory tests on biological samples to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
• Analyse and interpret test results, providing accurate data to healthcare professionals.
• Develop and refine laboratory protocols to enhance testing efficiency.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Maintain compliance with local and international laboratory standards and regulations.
• Document all laboratory procedures, results, and quality control measures accurately.
• Participate in regular audits and quality assurance programs to ensure laboratory integrity.
• Equipment Management:
• Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and operation of laboratory instruments.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and report any malfunctions promptly.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to discuss findings and contribute to patient care decisions.
• Train and mentor junior staff in laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
• Research and Development:
• Engage in research projects aimed at improving laboratory practices or developing new testing methodologies.
• Stay informed about advancements in laboratory science and technology.
• Reporting:
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing laboratory findings for medical staff review.
• Present data clearly during team meetings or case discussions.

• Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field; certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician is required.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment.

Required Skills:

• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software applications.

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

• Knowledge of safety protocols and ethical standards related to laboratory practices.
  Pay: ₦90,000.00 per month
