The ideal candidate will meet the following essential requirements:
- B App Sc (Medical Science) or BSc or equivalent with specific training in haematology.
- Specific experience in delivering an ISO 15189 compliant Cryopreservation service
- Competence and knowledge in information systems (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, LIMS and Explorer/Netscape).
- Appropriate experience and knowledge of haemato-oncology
- Patient documentation, product handling and management and understanding.
- Experience in Equipment and laboratory maintenance tasks including performing validations
- Appropriate experience and knowledge of haematology.
- Demonstrable ability to work and communicate cooperatively in a team including other scientists, senior scientists, pathologists, nursing staff, clinical staff, and researchers.
- Responsible attitude and work ethic
- Professional approach to patient care, service confidentiality and provision of pathology/testing services.
- Demonstrable ability to meet the clinical expectations of clients
The ideal candidate may also display the following desirable requirements:
- Haematology diagnostic laboratory experience.
- Understanding of Medical Microbiology
- Recognised scientific training and competence relevant to the position including knowledge in cell therapy/cryopreservation, analytical methods
- GCP certificate
- Experience in handling Cellular therapy products
- Experience with Liquid Nitrogen handling (Products and Equipments)
- Understanding and practical experience of the requirements of the code of Good Manufacturing Practice for Human Blood and Tissues (cGMP
Responsibilities:
Medical Laboratory Technician - Cryopreservation
- Ongoing, Part-Time
- 64 hours per fortnight (0.84 FTE)
- Grade 1: BU1 - BU4 (depending on qualifications and experience)
The Medical Laboratory Technician will provide a high quality, effective and innovative cryopreservation service that meets the requirements of the code of Good Manufacturing Practice for Human Blood and Tissues (cGMP), ISO 15189 (Medical Testing) and the clinical needs of patients.
The ideal candidate will meet the following essential requirements:
