REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience
 New grads welcome
 Two years of experience as a Medical Laboratory in a hospital setting preferred
 Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) registration
 Current CMLTO license
Skills & Abilities
 Possesses and continually acquires knowledge relevant to the profession
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Computer skills, Epic and Microsoft office an asset
 Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
 Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties
 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, staff and physicians

Responsibilities:

Primary Duties
 Performs investigative procedures through detailed analysis, assay and examination of specimens
 Performs testing within the disciplines of Chemistry; Transfusion Medicine; Haematology; Microbiology;
Specimen Collection and Cardiac Testing
 Practices in accordance with the provincial regulations set out by the College of Medical Laboratory
Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO); hospital policy and procedures
 Is knowledgeable of, and follows the quality management processes
 Reports quality issues to technical director and senior MLT responsible for quality management
 Supports and actively participates in quality improvement activities to facilitate change in the
workplace
 Assures that critical results are communicated to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner
 Assesses and prioritizes workload
 Other related duties as assigned
