Description:
RESPONSABILITIES
Provide scientific information and support
- In close coordination with existing medical information resources, respond professionally and in a timely
manner to documented unsolicited requests from external stakeholders regarding clinical information
and data in relation to disease specific questions around the product/therapeutic areas he/she is
responsible for, pre-launch communication, on-label or off-label use or any Ipsen’s research programs.
This in alignment with Ipsen’s guidelines and local laws and industry codes and regulations.
- Deliver lectures on scientific, clinical and technical topics spontaneously requested, ensuring appropriate
approval in relevant systems.
- Contribute to and support the clear articulation of a compelling brand strategy for the product he/she is
responsible for across Ipsen marketing, sales, and medical functions.
- Assist in the organization and scientific support of key external National and Regional events e.g.
satellite symposia etc.
Develop and maintain knowledge
- Track and manage evolving evidence in areas critical for the organization, including the competitor’s
landscape. Ensure this is communicated to the appropriate Ipsen personnel
- Support Health Care Professionals (HCPs), including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), in line with Ipsen
strategy, by reactively (and proactively where appropriate) providing them with scientific and clinical
data.
- Attend appropriate scientific congresses to interact with HCPs, develop knowledge in relevant
therapeutic areas and to produce congress summaries for dissemination to HCPs.
- Support the dissemination of product and disease area knowledge across Ipsen in accordance with
business priorities.
- Undertake regular communication of best practice and facilitation of knowledge sharing.
- Assist in maintaining, improving, and promoting the Medical Information and wider medical service in
line with the therapeutic area strategy and Ipsen SOPs.
Provide medical brand support and MSL activities
- Contribute to the design and execution of late-phase clinical trials through sponsorship of local studies
or support of therapeutic area studies as appropriate, and in line with Ipsen SOPs and International
Guidelines to ensure successful completion of the trials and their publication. Where required, provide
budget control and accountability of these programs.
- Provide support to MSL in their scientific liaison activities as well as coordinate medical information
activities.
- Identify and build relationships with National, Regional, or Local HCPs and Thought Leaders
- Organize Advisory Boards within the business Strategy with the approval and support of the Medical
Director and Country/Cluster teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate degree level: Physician or other Health Science degree plus MBA or specialization.
- Postgraduate level in related disease areas, epidemiology, clinical or basic research is desirable
Experience:
- Experience within Pharmaceutical Industry preferred In Medical Affairs
- Deep understanding of the drug development process and a good knowledge of the therapeutic area would be a
strong advantage.
- Knowledge of local Health System and regulatory laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of and current training in GxP (GCP, GPvP), and other applicable instruments and regulations governing
clinical research, medical information, and scientific communication.
- Proven experience of critically appraising clinical evidence, and an ability to assimilate large volumes of data.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including Medical Affairs and HCPs management or strong
disease area experience and proven established relationships with the most relevant HCP on the disease area. This
position is responsible for compliance with the ethical and regulatory requirements by health authorities and
Ipsen processes and regulations.
- Working in a matrix organization and interfacing with lead/management team.
- Ability to work with high workload and time pressure.
- Strong organizational abilities and Strategic Thinking
- Broad pharmaceutical business knowledge
Languages:
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
