Description:

We have a permanent full-time Medical Office Assistant position available in a busy family/walk in clinic. Looking for a highly motivated detail orientated Medical Office Assistant. PREVIOUS MOA EXPERIENCE A MUST.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail, professionalism and dedication to your position
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Work in a busy environment, answering phone calls, rooming patients, assisting physicians and working on physician tasks
  • Administration skills including scheduling, taking cash payments, keeping the clinic tidy and other office tasks as needed
  • The ability to work independently and a strong team player
  • Available to work a rotation of Saturdays with other MOA’s
  • Experience working with MedAccess would be an asset
  • Benefits after 3 months and paid holidays

Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- Answer phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
- Perform basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs and collecting specimens
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or similar healthcare setting is necessary
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance practices
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, Med Access preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
