MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT
One (1) Full Time Permanent Position
Wabasca, Alberta
The Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, AB is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our Medical Clinic team at the Bigstone Medical Clinic. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Medical Receptionist certificate and/or certificate or diploma in Office Administration
- Minimum two years’ work experience in related Medical Administrative field.
- Proficient with EMR systems (Med Access proficiency an asset)

Responsibilities:
- Obtain files documents, demographics, background information and accurately enter into EMR: maintain organized and up-to-date patient chart
- Act as an administrative support as required, faxing, patient record entry, charting, referrals, etc.
- Book appointments, patient call backs/reminders, communication with external health services and providers on behalf of patients and/or health care provider
- Taking of and accurate documentation of patient vital signs, height, weight, neonatal measurements
- Act within a MOA capacity and scope to support Nursing, Physicians and other health care providers as required
- Other duties as required
