Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Job Description: Support doctors and other health care professionals by performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks
Establish professional relationships with patients and ensure that they have confidence in you
Answer a high volume of incoming calls and make outgoing calls
Check-in patients and update patients’ demographics accurately
Schedule patients for the appropriate appointments
Communicate effectively with doctors and staff via electronic messaging
Maintain confidentiality as per the clinic policies
Deal effectively with the difficult behaviors that can sometimes be shown by people in distress
Adapt well to different roles and duties
‪Required Skills/Qualifications and Education:
Completion of Medical Office Administration diploma or like education/experience
Quality and patient focused
Enthusiastic, diligent and dedicated attitude with the ability to adapt readily to changing circumstances, varying job demands and client needs
Dynamic customer service and telephone etiquette
Ability to work a flex schedule including evening shifts
Knowledge of an EMR (electronic medical record) an asset
Show initiative and have the ability to multitask working cooperatively within a team setting and independently
Possess problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to follow directions closely and accurately

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, answering calls promptly and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing, data entry, and handling correspondence as needed.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals and patients.
