Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team. The MOA is responsible for assisting and supporting medical providers in delivering high quality primary health care to patients of Carleton North Medical Clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic by providing exceptional administrative support and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Office Assistant Diploma preferred though not required
- Working knowledge of medical and health system terminology
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented fashion
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate approach to patient care is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence accordingly.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and communication.

- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management.
