JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our team. (MOA) to join our Multi-Physician Medical Clinic. Being the first point of contact for our clinic, the chosen MOA must possess excellent customer service and have amazing interpersonal skills. The chosen MOA must also perform well under pressure, show confidence and knowledge in handling challenging situations and ensuring all patients and visitors receive the utmost care and quality service they deserve.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in medical office administration 2 years Minimum
- Might be required to work Saturday
- Strong organizational and time-management skillsGreat time management and ability to multi-task
- Able to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
- Personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Has a positive work ethic, superior efficiency and professionalism, and has the ability to maintain confidentiality with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Be willing to work with diverse individuals
- Proficiency in Experience with computer and computer applications including Windows OS and Microsoft Office
- Experience in Accuro EMR is a must
- Insurance/ Benefits will be discussed and available after 6 months probationary period

Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will assist in the smooth operation of our medical office by providing excellent administrative support and patient care.
- Greeting patients with a positive and courteous manner
- Updating and maintaining patients electronic medical records (EMR) with all test results, clinical notes, demographics including validating health cards, etc;
- Scheduling, coordinating and confirming all patient appointments, tests, referrals and procedures
- Sort and file correspondence accordingly and perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as responding, answering, redirecting and relaying all inquiries via phone calls, emails, letters, etc.
- Process billings for exams, procedures, and forms not covered by Manitoba Health
- Ensuring all exam rooms are sanitized before and after each patient, and checked regularly for cleanliness and to ensure supplies are adequately stocked
- Maintaining strict confidentiality according to the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA)
- Clinical duties such as: performing EKG’s, Spirometry, taking patients heights and weights, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting physicians during examinations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
