Description:

We are searching for compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team! We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Floater in our Gastonia office. Qualified candidates will have 2 years of medical business office experience in a similar capacity and must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and insurance. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while ensuring excellent patient care and remain flexible to shifting assignments based on business needs.

Responsibilities will include the following based on the assignment:

  • Checks in patients; collects payments and verifies and/or updates insurance. Obtains proper insurance documentation and demographic information.
  • Processes new patient paperwork and/or updated paperwork.
  • Follows established procedures to prepare for upcoming appointments.
  • Explains insurance authorization to patients as necessary.
  • Posts payments and balances at the end of each day and prepares daily deposits following established procedures.
  • Communicates with insurance companies to obtain pre-certification authorizations for surgeries, imaging studies, procedures, etc.
  • Serves as physician’s point of contact for scheduling appointments and procedures.
  • Coordinates pre-certification approvals following established procedures.
  • Schedules diagnostic testing both inside and outside CNSA (imaging, EMG, ESI, etc.).
  • Completes referral forms, faxes notes, and notifies patients.
  • Schedules appointments, including follow-ups, recalls, and urgent appointment requests.
  • Proofs transcribed dictation for assigned physician.
  • Coordinates depositions, record reviews, and expert witness scheduling.
  • Manages physician schedule changes and call changes to ensure all parties are notified.
  • Answers busy telephones, responds to requests and/or directs to appropriate party.
  • Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.
  • Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals.
  • Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
  • Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.

Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility based on assignment.
