Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
New Zealand’s government is investing an additional $600 million in new medicines, including cancer medicines over the coming four years. As a part of this initiative the government is also investing in the people and facilities required to provide these medicines to New Zealanders.
These positions have been created to support the first tranche of new medicines with more to come as Health NZ develops its plans to expand and make it easier for New Zealanders to access cancer treatment.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking motivated Medical Oncologists who are passionate about providing cutting-edge oncology care. You will be instrumental in delivering diagnostic, investigative, and treatment services, ensuring that each patient receives personalised and effective care. The collegiality, work life balance, access to the great outdoors and opportunity to work in a rural town or city hospital. You will lead and direct training programmes, establish innovative models of service delivery, contribute to national tumour stream work and enhance national collaboration and develop networks.
You will:
- Provide specialised care across inpatient, outpatient, and day patient settings
- Plan, assess, and oversee patient treatment programmes, acting as a leader and key resource within the oncology department
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams to create individualised care plans that meet each patient’s unique needs
We are seeking someone who not only has strong clinical skills but also a genuine passion for the field of oncology and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
