PRIMARY DETAIL

State of the art clinical trials oncology team within Macquarie University Hospital, is seeking a Medical Oncology Fellow for their 2025 clinical year.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide clinical management and timely treatment for patients participating in MQ oncology clinical trials, ensuring trial related procedures are completed and documented.
  • Assist Principal Investigators to meet the regulatory requirements of clinical trials
  • Supervise and commit to accurate documentation and completion of electronic medical records to reflect clinical decisions, tests, procedures and discharge diagnoses and instructions.
  • Attend and contribute to sponsor meetings about trial safety as well as feasibility of potential new trials as required.
  • Attend Discipline, Program and MQ Health meetings and participate in Discipline/Program Morbidity and Mortality meetings and as required

  • Full unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and FRACP or equivalent
  • Proven commitment to education and research
  • Previous experience as an investigator on oncology clinical trials (desirable).
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement, evidence based practice and promoting a culture of safety, quality, innovation and best practice in clinical practice, teaching and research

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a state-of-the-art clinical trials oncology team on the Macquarie University campus
  • Full time or Part time (1-4 days availability), for 1-year fixed term contract.

    The Role:
    As a Medical Oncology Fellow you will be a key member of a busy and large academic Medical Oncology unit based at the North Ryde campus of Macquarie University. You will provide high quality medical care and services to patients across tumour streams on our phase I to III oncology trials.
    You will work closely with a multi-functional team of doctors, research nurses and clinical trial coordinators as well as external stakeholders.

About you:
You will be a qualified Medical Oncologist with FRACP or equivalent, passionate about clinical trials. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and a proven commitment to education and research. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent time management skills.
