Canadian Surgery Solutions, a division of Clearpoint Health Network is recruiting for a Medical Radiation Technologist - Casual.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all radiology equipment, performing a range of standard radiological examinations including fluoroscopy, and preparing patients for these procedures. They ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images for physician review while also managing the care and upkeep of the radiology equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
- Active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- Must have experience with fluoroscopy in an operating room environment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recent, relevant experience as an MRT performing procedures in general diagnostic imaging and fluoroscopy.
- Demonstrated competence in radiological procedures requiring independent judgement and initiative.
- Must be able to comprehend, speak, read and write English fluently and be understood by others with whom they are in contact.
- Good organization skills and ability to assume responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of personnel in an inter-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical analysis skills.
- Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, staff and physicians.
- Must be in good physical health and be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
- May be exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits).

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the radiology equipment and auxiliary equipment function correctly and are maintained properly.
- Follow documented safe operating procedures for the equipment.
- Practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety techniques as applicable.
- Handle all personal information and all personal health information according to the appropriate governing privacy legislation.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control activities according to equipment manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable industry standards.
- Ensure all images are saved and filed in the appropriate medical record.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
