REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a three (3) year diploma in medical radiation and imaging technology programs
  • Current registration with Sonography Canada as a Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer (CRGS)
  • Medical Radiation Technologists with a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) assignments must have current registration with The College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) with MRT (R)
  • Member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • For Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) assignments, incumbents must have minimum of three (3) months of experience with computed and digital radiography, and magnetic resonance imaging in the hospital environment
  • Ability to practice full scope in computed tomography including IV initiation and contrast media injection
  • Previous experience in abdominal, obstetrical and gynecological scanning
  • Demonstrated experience with PACS applications
  • Demonstrated computer software application skills (Radiology Information Systems) and knowledge of automated and semi-automated instrumentation and equipment
  • Demonstrated and proven excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated and proven strong public relation skills
  • Previous experience in a hospital or health care Diagnostic Imaging department
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated and proven ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with patients, colleagues and other health care disciplines
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal continuing education activities
  • Experience in vascular scanning, musculoskeletal, shoulder, Doppler and cardiac scanning is an asset.
  • Previous cross-sectional anatomy courses an asset
  • Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
  • Bilingualism mandatory (French/English)

    Les technologues en échographie et les technologues en radiation médicale travaillent au sein d’une équipe multidisciplinaire conformément à la Loi sur les hôpitaux publics, à la Loi sur les professions de la santé réglementées ainsi qu’aux normes établies par Échographie Canada et l’Ordre des technologues en radiation médicale de l’Ontario.
