Description:
POSITION: MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Schedule: M-F, full time (40 hour) a week position. Some weekends are required: 8 am - 1 pm. Additional $3.50 per hour weekend differential rate.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00/hour. Salary commensurate with experience.
Location: Tacoma, Federal Way, and Gig Harbor. Travel to all clinics is required.

The Medical Receptionist ensures professional, pleasant, and efficient check-in of patients. This position maintains the functionality of the equipment and aesthetic appearance of the clinic reception area. Our Medical Receptionists works closely with clinical and support services staff to ensure proper clinic flow.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 or more years’ experience working in customer service. Preferred experience in a medical office setting and/or in a call center environment.
- Preferred experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Spanish Speaking is Preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Greets and checks in all PNW clinic patients.
- Answers assigned office line and overflow lines in a timely manner.
- Verifies insurance information and patient demographic.
- Collects co-pays or outstanding balance due at check-in.
- Clears voicemails and makes return calls in a timely manner.
- Schedules appointments following provider templates and processes.
- Monitors and maintains assigned schedules to ensure proper patient flow.
- Makes outgoing calls to referral patients.
- Reschedules appointments to accommodate changes in the providers’ schedules when necessary.
- Confirms patient appointments when needed.
- Relays telephone messages to the appropriate person, i.e. nurse messages.
- Verifies State insurance PCP assignment for proper placement and coverage.
- Completes Advance and next day confirming as assigned.
- Ensures waiting area is kept neat and clean.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
