Description:
Washway Road Medical Centre is a large, yet warm and welcoming GP surgery. We are looking for an efficient receptionist to join our team. For this vacancy the post holder must be available to work on a Friday. Exact shift pattern to be confirmed but to cover the practice opening hours from 7:00am until 6:30pm.
You will be part of a large, supportive and friendly team and will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to patients. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the efficient functioning of the practice. You will need strong IT skills, remain calm under pressure and have a can-do attitude. If this is you, then join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival
- Schedule and confirm appointments in person, over the telephone or via e-consult tools
- Collect and update patient information, register patients and code health care information
- Answer phone calls and respond to a wide range of enquiries, directing patients to the most appropriate service
- Assist with medication requests and questions
- Scanning and filing of clinical correspondence
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area
- Collaborate with wider clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer facing role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in computer systems and software
- Knowledge of medical terminology, or previous GP Surgery experience is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
The exact shift pattern is upon offer but will include Monday/Wednesday/Friday over our core contracted hours of 8:00-18:30. Flexibility to have at least one early shift from 7:00am is desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.60-£12.20 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 37 per week
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (required)
