Position: Medical Scientist - Grade 1 or 2

Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate. The laboratory is centrally located in Collingwood, close to Melbourne CBD and well served by public transport.
The cytology department processes a high number of CST LBC, FNA and exfoliative samples.
A great opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, self-motivated scientist to join our dedicated team. The successful applicant must be quality focused, with high attention to detail, problem solving capabilities, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position requirements :
- An AIMS recognised relevant degree in Laboratory Medicine BAppSc (MLS) or equivalent with a Cytology major
- CT(ASC) Gynae and/or Non-Gynae for consideration
- Practical screening experience and knowledge of all related quality requirements
- Experience in FNA ROSE attendance, EBUS FNA, and screening of exfoliative cytology would be an advantage
- Active participation in internal continuing education programs, and external RCPA QAP.
Higher qualifications will be acknowledged where applicable. The position is a full-time working arrangement with flexible rostered hours/days, and can be inclusive of morning, evening and weekend shifts.
