Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, well organised, committed individual to join the Trauma & Orthopaedic Admin and Secretarial team. This role will be based in Gloucester Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will provide secretarial support to a number of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and their respective teams.
The proposed interview date is 29th August
The successful candidate will provide administration and secretarial duties to Orthopaedic Consultants including, but not limited to, typing, consultant diary management, arranging patients’ appointments, distribution of doctors’ annual leave. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to meet targets and deadlines. You will be the primary contact for patients and staff in relation to dealing with telephone enquiries. You will need to be a team player with excellent audio typing skills and be able to work under pressure.

The T&O Medical Secretary will be responsible for a designated group of Consultants and will be responsible for the day-to -day management of their own Consultants admin and secretarial tasks, such as, audio typing of dictation, management of Consultant diaries, organising patient appointments via Booking Office, distribution of Consultant/Doctor leave and also dealing with patients over the telephone and liaising with different departments to ensure best outcome for patients.
