Description:

The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department is looking for an experienced secretary to join its busy secretarial team.
We are looking for someone with an approachable, helpful, flexible attitude who enjoys working as part of a team. You should also have good communication skills, administrative and organisational skills and be able to produce accurate audio typing and respond to ad hoc queries and deadlines effectively.

You will act as first point of contact for patients on behalf of the Consultants and their teams within the Division; liaising with patients, GP’s, other hospitals and other external organisations and other departments within the hospital.

  • To ensure a high standard of secretarial and administrative service is consistently delivered by undertaking all required tasks and activities on a daily basis
  • To utilise the required technology including Big Hand, Evolve, Microsoft and any other technology or system(s) that are introduced to deliver an efficient administrative and secretarial service.
  • To recommend and support the implementation of service improvements to own and team working practice to improve workflow.
  • To support other team members to deliver the required administrative and secretarial service in a quick changing working environment
